BFN is protected by US Patent 10695110, Japanese Patent 6204638 (which has broader claim scope than the US patent), and registered industrial designs.

BFN Research wishes to make its intramedullary nail widely available by licensing its intellectual property and know how to one or more manufacturers of orthopedic devices.

The three inventors of the BFN, all orthopedic surgeons practicing in Japan, and their research team, are willing to assist a licensee by conducting clinical trials, and publishing and presenting the results of such trials.
